Exploring Author and Illustrator Websites

Welcome to my Author/Illustrator Page. Click on the author or illustrator's name below to link to their website...

These websites are great resources, whether you're a parent, teacher, or interested reader.  They are listed in alphabetical order, by the last name of the author or illustrator (just click on the name of the author or illustrator to link to their website).


David A. Adler: I love this author's historical books and biographies for children.  This is a great website for parents and teachers.

Louisa May Alcott: This link will take you a website about Little Women's Orchard House Museum, Family History, and "Alcott Wit & Wisdom" quotes.

Lynn Reid Banks: Author of Indian in the Cupboard books and lots more.

John Bellairs: I know you'll enjoy perusing this Gothic mystery novel writer's website!

Felicia Bond: "Mouse Cookie Books".  Meet Felicia (illustrator), Laura Numeroff (author) and their characters.

Jan Brett: This author/illustrator has a wonderful website that is updated often and links to her books, fun activities, and blog.

Eric Carle: Website, museum, and blog link of The Very Hungry Caterpillar's very busy author/illustrator.

Beverly Cleary: Bio, Books, and Fun & Games link, from this prolific author of Mouse and the Motorcycle and many others.

Roald Dahl: Wonderful website about the author who brought us such classics as James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and MANY more).

Don Freeman: Author and illustrator of Courdoroy.

Gail Gibbons: This author/illustrator of many non-fiction picture books has a website with wonderful teaching resources.

James Gurney: The author/illustrator of the popular Dinotopia books has an excellent blog, "Gurney Journey", linked from his website.

Valerie Greely: Stop by Valerie's lovely website to see her artwork portfolio.  You can also link to her blog, "Acorn Moon", which she regularly updates with posts of what she's up to from England, as well as interviews with other authors and illustrators.

Kevin Henkes: Henkes, author and illustrator of Chester's Way, Chrysanthemum, and many more picture books, has a website with his bio and downloads for teachers and parents.

Karen Katz: Author/illustrator Karen Katz loves babies!  Visit her website for her Bio, Teacher & Artist resources, and fun Baby Photo Widget.

Stephen Kellogg: Books and Gallery by an author/artist who does conferences and makes school appearances.

Jeri Landers: I know you'll love Jeri's beautiful website and her blog, Hopalong Hollow Gazette, where you can link to her Youtube channel and see her Paper Gardens!

C.S. Lewis: Website links to Harper Collins Lewis books blog, author page, and Narnia Website.

Leo Lionni: "100 Years of Leo Lionni" from Random House - with bio, activities, and video about this amazing author/illustrator.

Maud Hart Lovelace:  I love this website about the author of one of my daughter's favorite series: Betsy/Tacy.

Jane G. Meyer: Lovely website and blog from my friend, author and baker Jane G. Meyer.

A.A. Milne: There are most likely other websites, but I like this one - "Pooh Corner", about a wonderful bear and his creator (with a page dedicated to illustrator E.H. Shepard as well).

Beatrix Potter: This is the Official Peter Rabbit website, with lots of good biographical information about Beatrix Potter.  You can also visit the Beatrix Potter Society website.

Jack Prelutsky: His fun website is a quirky as his poetry.

Belinda Rapley: You'll love her fun website about The Pony Detectives!

Anne Rockwell: Blog, books, and teachers resources from a prolific author/illustrator.

Amy Krause Rosenthal: Books, bio, events & tours, and online journal from a talented author.

Robert Sabuda:  This is guaranteed to be one of the most fun websites you'll visit!  Instructions for making your own pop-ups, from illustrator/author Robert Sabuda!

Ruth Sanderson: Website from one of my favorite author/illustrators, Ruth Sanderson.  I especially love her Twelve Dancing Princesses and The Nativity.

Lemony Snicket: Creative website from a creative author. Includes a page about illustrator Brett Helquist.

Jerry Spinelli: Great writer for independent readers. Excellent website!

Gennady Spirin: Gorgeous website of an absolutely amazing Russian illustrator of children's picture books.

Diane Stanely: This gifted woman has written and illustrated some wonderful picture biograhies and historical books.

Erin Stead:  Caldecott Medal Winning illustrator for the picture book "A Sick Day for Amos McGee" (one of my favorites!) You can visit her author/illustrator/husband Phillip Stead's blog here.

Laura Ingalls Wilder: This is a great website: "Frontier Girl", with lots of good links about her life, family, and homes.

Mo Willems: Fun and Games, and Mo's blog.

Jane Yolen: Don't miss this informative website from a wonderfully prolific author!  Stories, poems, bio, travel schedule, links for parents and teachers.

Charlotte Zolotow: Get to know this timeless author on this lovely website created by her daughter.
